Miss Dao Tutoring Policies & Procedures

Thank you for choosing Miss Dao Tutoring. My goal is to create a consistent, supportive learning environment where students feel confident and families feel informed. These policies help ensure smooth communication, predictable scheduling, and a positive experience for everyone.

  • Payment Due Payment is due the day before the first tutoring session of each month.

    Accepted Forms of Payment Cash, check, Zelle, and PayPal.

    Late or Missing Payments Failure to submit payment on time may result in early termination of the tutoring contract.

    Checks by Mail

    • $5 mailing fee

    • Must be postmarked by the due date

    • Late postmark results in a late fee added to the following month’s invoice

  • Online Payments (Zelle/PayPal)

    • 5‑day grace period

    • After 5 days, a $10 late fee will be added to the following month’s invoice

    Payments by Mail

    • No grace period

    • Late payments incur a $15 late fee

  • A “no‑show” is defined as a missed session with no communication before or during the scheduled time.

    • No‑shows are charged the full session fee

    • No credit or rescheduling is available

  • More than 24 hours’ notice

    • The session will be credited and may be used at any later date

    Within 24 hours of the session

    • The session may be rescheduled within the same week, depending on availability

    After the 24‑hour window

    • No refund or credit will be provided

    Definition of Notice Communication from the parent via email or text stating that the student will be unable to attend the scheduled session.

    • Up to three health‑related cancellations per school year (9‑month period)

    • Must occur within 24 hours of the session

    • These sessions will be credited for future use

  • To support a smooth and productive learning experience, please ensure:

    • The device used for tutoring is fully charged or plugged in

    • The student is in a quiet, distraction‑free space

    • The following materials are ready at the start of each session:

      • Whiteboard

      • Whiteboard markers

      • Whiteboard eraser

    • Email is the primary method of communication

      • Emails will be returned within 24–36 hours

    • Texting is reserved for urgent or time‑sensitive matters only

      • Running late

      • Sudden illness

      • Zoom issues

    • Please avoid texting for scheduling changes or general questions

    • Summer tutoring (June–August) will be scheduled and confirmed in May

    • Maintaining a consistent weekly schedule helps students retain skills, build momentum, and transition smoothly into the next school year
